I know I say I was nervous for all of these challenges, but this one made me most anxious.
I had seen this challenge circulating the internet and thought it would be fun and doable. I asked my friend Gerardo Gutierrez if he would be down to potentially get kicked out of Target with me, and God bless him he said yes. Gerardo is one of those people who I knew of through mutual friends and I had seen and admired his work. He lived in the same area I did and I was so happy to see someone so talented from my hometown doing well at his craft.
My lovely friend Cece was thrilled at the idea and agreed to model for us, and my friend Jake worked with me to make sure we used as inconspicuous equipment as we could to film inside the store.
Being the anxious enneagram 6 that I am, I chose a Target that was near a book store, a Michael's and a Hobby Lobby just in case we were asked to leave and needed a plan b location. We made sure to not be in the way and not cause a scene. To our complete surprise, very few people were shopping at the time and the employees we ran into were very pleasant and did not in fact ask us to leave.
I think Gerardo and I got a lot of fun shots and it was cool to see how effortlessly he used our location to make his photos look intentional and artistic.
