For the first time, I actually thought I had a good chance of succeeding in this photography challenge. I challenged my friend Evalina Lopez of Evalina Photography to switch photography styles with me. A cursory glance will show you that Evalina uses a beautiful pastel color palette and unique physical perspective to create such lovely photographs. If you know Evalina, you know she is all about thinking outside of the box and finding a new perspective to things and I think that comes across clearly in her photos.
Because she does more of an editorial style of modeling in her photographs and I follow the more traditional route as I frequently work with non-models, I thought it would be fun to see from her perspective what she notices about my photographs and vice versa.
We had the lovely Larissa model for us and made our jobs so much easier. My friend Emilio filmed our adventure.
We both did our homework and studied each other's photographs before meeting for the challenge. This challenge was kind of a two-part challenge because once we took our photos, we had to go home and edit our photos like the other person. I had a lot of fun messing around with colors that I normally wouldn't play with (printing unnatural colors can sometimes mess with skin tone, and since I work with mostly seniors I imagine they would like to have a normal look).
